With daily media reports of rises in the cost of energy and the advent of global warming, two of the most urgent problems facing the world today are energy conservation and protection of the environment.

Efficient use of energy is now, and will remain, one of the most challenging issues faced by all businesses. Therefore, with air conditioning and refrigeration representing between 15% and 50% of the total grid load in developed countries, the ability to reduce the power consumption of these processes would have a major impact in reducing the cost of and damage from burning fossil fuels.

As a result, many organisations are working hard to provide alternative technologies to combat these challenges.

Theodoma has developed a waste energy recovery system, recovering low grade waste heat (in the range of 45°C to 220°C) from different sources such as air conditioning/refrigeration/boilers and other sources.

The technology uses waste heat to generate electricity, which can then be put back into the grid, thus reducing energy costs and carbon emissions.
